Captain Dan spends winter and spring where the bass fishing is about as good as it gets--anywhere!! Lake Okeechobee covers over 700 square miles in south central Florida and is home to bass fishing tournaments and recreational fishing for residents and snowbirds alike. Bass routinely run in the 6- to 9-pound range, and there are bigger ones to be found. We also fish for catfish, crappie, tilapia, and other freshwater species Our newest offering is fishing along the St. Lucie River as it spills into the Atlantic Ocean at Stuart. Snook are awesome fighters, and we can look for jacks and redfish, too.
Our new 24-foot Nautic Star is a floating tackle box, and Captain Dan carries a variety of gear for all skill levels. A specialty on the Lake for live bait anglers is fishing with shiners--large, good-swimming minnows that bass can't resist.
Lake Okeechobee is home to a wide variety of Florida wildlife. You're sure to see alligators, eagles, osprey, egrets, cranes, herons, and many species of ducks. It's a birder's paradise. And on the St. Lucie waterway, you will encounter dolphin, turtles, and coastal water fowl.
Our Nautic Star 244XTS comfortably carries up to 4 anglers plus your guide.
Half-day trips on the Lake last 5 hours and cost $300 total for up to 3 anglers; each additional angler up to 4 costs $75 each more. Your party charters the boat exclusively. This includes gear, tackle, and artificial lures. Live bait can be purchased on site (extra), and anglers will need Florida fishing licenses, which can be purchased easily on-line or in the area (inexpensive temporary out-of-state licenses available). Half-day trips on the River cost $400. Half-day coastal trips in-shore on the Ocean looking for sharks and morecost $550.
Our boat is on a trailer, which allows us to fish any part of the waters that are productive at any given time. We will meet you at a tackle shop if we need live bait or boat ramp that is convenient for you. The closest airport is West Palm Beach. We are headquartered in Palm City on the water, convenient to the St. Lucie River.
